Tan Chee Shen, Tenor
Born and raised in Malaysia , tenor Tan Chee Shen is a winner of numerous awards including the grand prize of the Singapore-Malaysia voice competition, the Bangkok Opera South-East Asia vocal competition and most recently the Bronze award of NTDTV International Chinese Singing Competition in NYC.
During the summer of 2005, Chee Shen was awarded a full scholarship to attend the famed Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara , California , where he worked with distinguished American mezzo soprano Marilyn Horne and pianist Warren Jones. He also attended the International Vocal Arts Institute at Montreal , Canada in Summer 2008.
Chee Shen earned his Master of music degree from Mannes College of Music in New York where he also attended for undergraduate. At Mannes, Chee Shen sang roles such as Rinuccio and Tinca from Gianni Schichi and Il Tabarro, Don Curzio from Le Nozze di Figaro, Arturo from I Puritani, Magician from The Consul, Ferrando from Cosi fan Tutte and many more, under the baton of Maestro Joseph Colaneri from the Metropolitan Opera and also the director of Mannes Opera. On the concert stage, he has performed as the tenor soloist in Bach Magnificat and a Bach excerpts concert, both with Canta Lyrica conducted by Metropolitan Opera's assistant conductor, Joshua Greene. He also performed Mohammed Fairouz's song cycles with the Mimesis ensemble. Upcoming concerts including, tenor soloist for Janacek's Our Father and Brahms' Neue Liebeslieder with Pro Arte chorale. Chee Shen will appear as a tenor soloist for Canta Lyrica upcoming opera scenes performance and tenor soloist in Mozart Requiem with Pro Arte Chorale. He works closely with tenor Arthur Levy and Johsua Greene, assistant conductor at the Metropolitan Opera. Chee Shen currently works as a freelance singer in New York.
Tan Khar Gee, Soprano (Guest Performer)
Homegrown coloratura soprano, Tan Khar Gee was a graduate of the Malaysian Institute of Arts before obtaining her Masters Degree at the Conservatory of China, Beijing. Subsequently she left for Italy to further her studies at the Accademia Lirica Italiana under the tutelage of Maestro Pier Miranda Ferraro and the renowned repetiteur Maestro Roberto Negri, both from the famous opera house Teatro Alla Scala, Milano. In Italy, she actively participated and represented the conservatory in major performances and received excellent reviews from the press. Consequently, she was awarded the Young Vocalist and Artist Certificate.
Since her return to the country in 2004, she has given many recitals in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China to great acclaim.
Dr. P'ng Tean Hwa, Pianist
P’ng Tean Hwa has appeared in many public concert performances as a soloist as well as collaborative pianist in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Hungary, and the USA. He has performed with the WVU Symphony Orchestra as a winner of its Young Artist Competition, and played in the masterclasses of Christopher O’Riley, Ralph Votapek, Lydia Artimiw, Anton Nel, Claude Frank, and Florence Kirsch. As a clinician, he has presented numerous lectures, workshops, and seminars to both piano teachers and the general audience. He has also adjudicated competitions, including the Final Round of the Young Person’s Competition in 2006 and in 2007 in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, and served as a guest examiner at Universiti Malaya in Kuala Lumpur. In recent years he has presented piano masterclasses at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and the Southwestern Assemblies of God University in the USA; the Arts High School in Pécs, Hungary; the Cantata Arts Institute in Jakarta and Medan Musik in Medan, Indonesia; Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand; as well as Universiti Putra Malaysia and Universiti Malaya in Kuala Lumpur.
Currently, Tean Hwa is Professor of Music and Associate Dean of the School of Music at UCSI University in Kuala Lumpur. At UCSI University, he is a member of the University Examination Board for more than ten years now, and has served as the Chair of the Senate Learning and Teaching Committee in 2007–2010. In addition, he is also a peer reviewer for the Pertanika Journal at Universiti Putra Malaysia. Tean Hwa holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance and literature from West Virginia University, Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees in piano performance from Western Illinois University, FTCL and LTCL diplomas in piano performance from the Trinity College of Music, and a chemical engineering degree from Universiti Malaya. He is a life member of the national scholastic honor society of Phi Kappa Phi.

2006 至2010年活跃于歌剧演出,深获学校歌剧总监纽约大都
2008 年遇另一恩师Arthur Levy 并追随其学习至今。
2009年于纽约举行的国际华人声乐大赛获得铜奖
2010年毕业于Mannes College of Music 获颁硕士文凭并决定以自由音乐人身份回纽约,盼吸取更多
